The Multi-Rack Cold Finger CF15 is the professional among our Cold Finger product family. It is the new standard in leading oil laboratories for measuring wax and paraffin deposits as well as inhibitor separation.
The revolutionised design with a modern drying bath for more working safety and individually removable samples in drawers for easier handling are part of its success.
The Cold Finger CF15 is a compact, easy-to-use measuring device. It achieves reproducible results by providing the same conditions for all 15 measuring stations for accurate analysis. The modular design as well as expandable temperature and pressure ranges allow for maximum flexibility.
The ‘Professional’ of our Cold Finger product family impresses with its precise finger and sample positioning. The intelligent design achieves reproducible results with high measuring accuracy thanks to the high level of operating safety.
The samples are protected from environmental influences in the closed measuring chamber. The wax deposits can be re-melted after the test. This means that the samples remain completely unchanged and can be reused.
The user-friendly operation, from simple preparation and quick execution to easy cleaning and supported software evaluation completing the concept.
Up to three drawers, each with 5 measuring positions, are housed in a sturdy aluminium frame. The drawers are easy to pull out.
Place the filled sample vials in the measuring stations and push the cooling finger with sleeve into the sample. Set the test conditions on the device itself or via the software and carry out the experiment.
At the end of the test, pull the drawer out again. Push the cooling finger upwards into the holder. Remove the sleeve with the wax deposits from the finger. This is easy to do, as there is a knurling on the upper, dry edge of the sleeve for this purpose. Place the sleeve on the scales and save the weight of the wax deposits using the computer.
During the product demonstration, you will gain many insights into how it works. You can follow the measuring process live and then discuss your questions with our experts.
Daily user-friendly test procedure including simple cleaning.
The simple operation during preparation, execution, evaluation and cleaning is impressive. The software with tare function and the measuring sleeves with wax slip protection make weighing easier. The surfaces as well as the easily removable measuring sleeves and sample tubes are easy to clean.
Shorter measuring times thanks to parallel tests and a closed system
Flexible measurement: The temperature and stirring speed can be set individually for each extract with five measuring stations. This enables parallel testing of different inhibitors and inhibitor concentrations. This significantly reduces test times. The small sample quantity and temperature control in a closed system also contribute to this.
Highest accuracy through precise temperature measurement close to the sample
The wax deposit temperature on the cooling finger can be measured accurately and controlled precisely. This is because the temperature measurement takes place directly under the surface of the cold finger, i.e. exactly where the wax deposit takes place. As a result, the cold finger achieves a significantly higher measuring accuracy compared to other concepts in which the finger temperature is only measured in the return flow.
Safe operation leads to reproducible results and high comparability
The high-quality device impresses with its precise finger and sample positioning. The cold finger achieves the same conditions for all measuring stations. This innovative design achieves reproducible results with high measuring accuracy thanks to its high operating safety.
Small and reusable sample quantity
The Cold Finger requires only 60 ml of sample. The wax deposits can be re-melted after the test thanks to the removable measuring sleeve. Condensation and evaporation of the sample is prevented in the sealed measuring chamber. This means that the samples remain completely unchanged and can be reused.
Modular system with up to 15 measuring stations
The basic device with five measuring stations can be extended to up to 15 measuring stations. Each pull-out with five measuring stations can be equipped differently. Different temperature ranges for samples and fingers as well as measurements under pressure are possible.

The fully automated Wax Flow Loop is a compact laboratory system for investigating the precipitation and deposition of waxes, paraffins and asphaltenes in pipelines.
The portable pour point tester measures the pour point (no flow point) of oils and oil products in accordance with ASTM D 5985, making it 30 times more accurate than devices that comply with ATSM D97.
The automatic flocculation tester measures precipitation and crystallization of asphaltenes in very dark, undiluted crude oils and oil products up to 700 bar and 200 °C.
